Titanium dioxide, CAS 13463-67-7, is a white inorganic pigment also known as titania. Its formula is TiO2 and molecular weight is 79.87 g/mol. ZXCHEM supplies an untreated white powder with a minimum assay of 99.0% for selected pigment and formulation requirements.
The local specification controls assay at ≥99.0%, water-soluble substance at ≤0.25% and loss on drying at ≤0.5% after three hours at 105°C. The legacy specification additionally identifies no surface treatment and an acid-soluble substance limit of ≤0.5% in 0.5 M HCl. No unverified nanoparticle size or coating composition is assigned to this grade.
Developers can assess the powder for whiteness, opacity and dispersion in qualified formulations. Food-use status is market-specific: titanium dioxide E171 is no longer authorized as a food additive in the European Union under Regulation (EU) 2022/63. Select the intended application and destination-market requirements before using a food-related grade; this page does not repeat the obsolete blanket EU food-approval claim.
