What Is Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate?
Sodium cocoyl glycinate, CAS 90387-74-9, is an amino-acid surfactant made from coconut fatty acids and glycine. It produces a rich, creamy foam that rinses cleanly, and is widely used in facial cleansers, shampoos and body washes.
This is a high-active powder with active matter ≥93%, acid value 0–40 mg KOH/g, moisture ≤5%, sodium chloride ≤2% and pH 7–8.5 on a 5% solution. Dose on active matter when switching from liquid grades.
It is not regulated as dangerous goods. Mildness and sensitive-skin claims need finished-product testing. Cosmetic use levels and labelling follow the rules of the destination market.
