What Is Tetrahydrocurcumin?
Tetrahydrocurcumin (tetrahydrodiferuloylmethane), CAS 36062-04-1, C21H24O6, molecular weight 372.42 g/mol, is a hydrogenated, colourless derivative of curcumin. It is used as an antioxidant and brightening ingredient in cosmetics because, unlike curcumin, it does not stain yellow.
The supply specification is a white to slightly yellow powder with HPLC purity ≥98.0%, melting range 91–97°C, moisture ≤1.0% and identity confirmed by NMR.
It is not regulated as dangerous goods. Cosmetic use levels and claims follow the rules of the destination market.
