What Is Sucralose?
Sucralose (trichlorosucrose), CAS 56038-13-2, C12H19Cl3O8, molecular weight 397.63 g/mol, is a high-intensity sweetener about 600 times sweeter than sucrose. It is heat-stable, so it is used in beverages, dairy, bakery and tabletop sweeteners.
The specification sets assay 98.0–102.0% (anhydrous basis), specific rotation +84.0 to +87.5°, water ≤2.0% and pH 5.0–8.0 on a 100 g/L solution, with residue, heavy-metal and microbiological limits.
It is not regulated as dangerous goods. Food use requires a grade and documents that meet the rules of the destination market.
