Sodium propynesulfonate (PS), CAS 55947-46-1, EC 259-915-0, is an alkynyl sulfonate brightener for nickel electroplating. In small amounts it improves brightness and levelling and widens the bright current-density range.
The liquid has assay ≥25.0%, pH 1.5–3.0, density 1.21–1.29 g/mL and refractive index 1.38–1.399 at 20°C.
It ships as Class 8 corrosive.
