What Is Chrome Oxide Green?
Chrome oxide green (chromium(III) oxide, Cr2O3), CAS 1308-38-9, is a very stable green pigment. It resists heat, light, acids and alkalis and is used in coatings, plastics, ceramics, construction materials and refractories, and as a polishing compound. It is different from chromic acid (chromium VI).
The supply grade has assay ≥99.0%, moisture ≤0.2%, water-soluble salts ≤0.3%, oil absorption 15–25% and 325-mesh residue ≤0.2%.
It is not regulated as dangerous goods.
