What Is Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate 70% (SLES)?
Sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES 70%, 2 EO), CAS 68585-34-2, is one of the most widely used anionic surfactants in shampoos, shower gels and liquid detergents. It foams well, thickens easily with salt and is milder than SLS.
The ZXS-SLES 70 grade has 68–72% active matter, with limits on colour (at 5% active matter), pH (at 1% active matter), sodium sulfate and unsulfated matter. As an ethoxylated product it has a distribution of chain lengths.
The 70% paste passes through a very viscous gel phase on dilution, so add it to water with good stirring. It is not regulated as dangerous goods, but it can cause serious eye damage; use eye and skin protection.
As an SLES supplier and exporter in China, ZXCHEM packs the white to light yellow paste in 170 kg or 200 kg polyethylene drums. Lead time is about 14 days from order confirmation.
