Sodium dehydroacetate monohydrate, CAS 64039-28-7, is the sodium salt of dehydroacetic acid. It is a preservative active mainly against moulds and yeasts and is used in cosmetics and other water-based products where permitted.
The supply grade has assay 98.0–100.5% and water 8.5–10%, consistent with the monohydrate. The EC number listed refers to the anhydrous salt.
