Perfluorodecyltrimethoxysilane, CAS 83048-65-1, C13H13F17O3Si, molecular weight 568.30 g/mol, is a fluoroalkyl silane. It bonds to glass, ceramics, metal oxides and other hydroxyl-bearing surfaces and gives very low surface energy, so treated surfaces repel water, oil and dirt. It is used for anti-fingerprint and easy-clean coatings and for treating fillers and pigments.
The supply grade has purity GC ≥97.0%. It hydrolyses with moisture, releasing alcohol, so keep containers sealed.
