DDBSA at a Glance
DDBSA (LABSA, CAS 68584-22-5) is a brown high-active alkylbenzene sulfonic acid supplied with assay ≥96%. ZXCHEM provides this anionic-surfactant precursor for detergent, emulsifier, industrial cleaning and selected oilfield chemical formulations. The TDS controls sulfuric acid, free oil and diluted-solution color. Standard 215 kg drums are available with TDS, reference SDS and free samples for testing. Choose ZXCHEM as your ddbsa supplier in China for bulk enquiries and technical document support.

Standard lead time is approximately 14 days from order confirmation.
DDBSA Specifications
Technical limits, 215 kg drum packing and two-year sealed-pack shelf life follow the matching legacy ZXCHEM TDS. The old molecular-weight value 323 is not a fixed molecular mass for this homologous commercial mixture.
Commercial Information
Storage & Shipping
Storage Conditions
Keep sealed in a cool, dry, ventilated area in acid-compatible packaging. Segregate alkaline chemicals and strong oxidizers; provide secondary containment and protect from excessive heat.
Shelf life
Two years in sealed original packaging.
Packaging
215 kg drums; IBC and ISO tank options
Handling & Protection
Use suitable acid-resistant gloves and clothing, splash goggles and face protection. Control splashes and acidic mist. Neutralize only with controlled addition, mixing and cooling because the reaction releases heat.
What Is DDBSA?
DDBSA is the commercial sulfonic-acid raw material also called LABSA. The legacy CAS 68584-22-5 identifies alkylbenzene sulfonic-acid homologues rather than a single fixed C12 molecule. The nine-grid therefore shows the alkyl range and surfactant function instead of assigning a single molecular formula or molecular weight to the commercial mixture.
This grade has assay ≥96%, sulfuric acid ≤2.0% and free oil ≤1.5%. The color limit is ≤35 Hazen measured on a 50g/L aqueous solution; it should not be confused with the neat liquid color, which is brown. These controls support neutralization planning and detergent-formulation selection.
Controlled neutralization produces alkylbenzene sulfonate surfactants for industrial cleaners, detergents and emulsifying systems. Selected oilfield formulations can use the acidic and surface-active functionality, subject to reservoir chemistry, material compatibility and process evaluation. Mineral dissolution, scale treatment and dosing performance are not universal guarantees.
The complete manufacturer reference uses UN 2586, alkylsulfonic acids liquid, Class 8 and packing group III. It identifies severe corrosive injury and harmful ingestion. Keep acid and alkaline concentrates segregated, control neutralization heat and prevent uncontrolled discharge. The HS reference 340231 is the six-digit alkylbenzene-sulfonic-acid/salt surfactant heading.

DDBSA Applications
Detergents and industrial cleaners
Acid precursor for alkylbenzene sulfonate surfactants. Compare active content, free acid, free oil and color against the neutralization and finished-cleaner requirements.
Emulsifiers and wetting systems
Surface-active raw material for selected industrial emulsifying and wetting formulations after appropriate neutralization or formulation. Evaluate compatibility and foam behavior in the complete system.
Oilfield formulation development
Acidic surfactant component for selected oilfield chemical formulations. Evaluate brine compatibility, materials and operational conditions before deployment; no fixed universal dosage is specified.

DDBSA FAQ
Which DDBSA grade should I choose?
Compare Assay ≥96% against your process requirements. Check the TDS for assay and impurity limits, then test a sample for compatibility and performance in your process.
Can I request a DDBSA sample for testing?
Request a free sample for testing. Tell us the intended LABSA application, preferred grade and the tests you plan to perform, so that we can arrange a suitable evaluation sample and technical information.
How is DDBSA packed and shipped?
Standard packing is 215 kg drums; IBC and ISO tank options. The usual MOQ is 1,000 kg, with a lead time of approximately 14 days from order confirmation. The reference bulk transport classification is Class 8 — Corrosive.
Which documents are available for DDBSA?
The TDS covers supply specifications; the reference SDS covers safety and transport. Both can be downloaded on this page. A batch COA can be provided with supply. Request documents for the grade and physical form you are ordering.
Request a DDBSA Quotation
Tell us the required grade, quantity, destination port and documents. We reply within 24 hours.
