What Is Ethoxylated Tridecyl Alcohol Phosphate?
Ethoxylated tridecyl alcohol phosphate, CAS 9046-01-9, is an anionic phosphate ester surfactant. It emulsifies, wets and disperses, and it stays effective in electrolyte-rich systems, so it is used in metalworking fluids, lubricants, oilfield additives and water-based industrial formulations.
This acid-form grade has active content above 99%, with an acid value of 140–160 mg KOH/g and water ≤1%. Colour is measured as a 50% solution in IPA on the Gardner scale. As an ethoxylated product, it has a distribution of chain lengths rather than one fixed formula.
Neutralizing the acid form with an amine or alkali changes its ionic form, viscosity and compatibility, and releases heat; target pH is set for each formulation. The acid form ships as UN 3265, Class 8, packing group II.
