What Is Carnosol?
Carnosol is a phenolic diterpene with a lactone structure, identified by CAS 5957-80-2. It occurs among rosemary constituents but is a separate chemical from carnosic acid. The supplied white powder has an HPLC assay above 95%.
A purified carnosol ingredient allows researchers and formulators to evaluate this constituent separately from a whole rosemary extract. Its defined assay supports controlled comparison of rosemary-derived materials, while the powder form allows incorporation into suitable trial systems without implying the properties of a mixed botanical extract.
