What Is Borneol?
Borneol, CAS 507-70-0, C10H18O, molecular weight 154.25 g/mol, is a terpene alcohol with a camphor-like, woody aroma. It is used in flavours, fragrances, aroma concentrates and terpene blends.
The commercial grade has borneol ≥55%, camphor ≤0.5% and melting range 205–210°C, with limits on non-volatile matter, arsenic and heavy metals. It is a commercial grade, not 100% pure borneol.
It ships as Class 4.1 flammable solid; keep it away from heat and ignition sources. Food use requires a grade and documents that meet the rules of the destination market.
