Storage Conditions
Store tightly closed in a cool, dry, ventilated corrosives area. Protect from atmospheric moisture and use compatible secondary containment. Separate from strong acids, strong bases, cyanides and sulfides; avoid unprotected metal containers.

Inspect moisture-barrier liners, bag seams and pallet wrapping for damage or wetness. Maintain legible lot and dangerous-goods labels; use dedicated dry tools and reseal opened liners promptly.

Use enclosed transfer and effective local exhaust. Wear chemical-resistant gloves, splash goggles, face protection and protective clothing. Avoid dust and all skin or eye contact; provide accessible eyewash and emergency washing facilities.
What Is Zinc Chloride?
Zinc chloride (ZnCl2), CAS 7646-85-7, EC 231-592-0, is a strongly hygroscopic salt. It is used in galvanizing and soldering fluxes, zinc electroplating, battery electrolytes, activated carbon production and as a catalyst.
The grade has assay ≥98.0% as ZnCl2, basic chloride as ZnO 1.2–2.2%, sulfate and barium each ≤0.01%, and iron and lead each ≤0.0005%.
It ships as Class 8 corrosive. Keep bags sealed, as it absorbs moisture quickly.
