What Is HEDP Tetrasodium 30% Solution?
HEDP tetrasodium (HEDP·Na4), CAS 3794-83-0, is the sodium salt of hydroxyethylidene diphosphonic acid, supplied as a 30% aqueous solution. It chelates calcium, magnesium and iron ions and inhibits scale. Because it is already neutralized, it suits alkaline formulations better than HEDP acid.
Active content is 29.0–31.0% as HEDP-Na4. The specification table also reports it as HEDP acid equivalent, which describes the same concentrate on a different mass basis. pH and density are given with their test conditions.
