What Is Yeast Extract?
Yeast Extract, CAS 8013-01-2, is a soluble yeast-derived ingredient used to supply peptides and amino nitrogen in microbial culture media and fermentation systems. Its natural composition differs from a pure amino acid. Select the nitrogen profile and complete specification for the microorganism and process.
The original ZXCHEM TDS specifies total nitrogen ≥10%, amino nitrogen ≥5%, pH 5.0–7.0, ash ≤12% and moisture ≤10%. It describes light brown powder, complete solubility, clear solution and no precipitation. These supply limits are retained separately from another manufacturer reference values.
Laboratory media, industrial microbial cultivation and bioprocess development require trials of growth response, solubility, medium clarity and compatibility with the full recipe. Determine dosage through the actual process and evaluate incoming batches against an agreed quality specification.
