Storage Conditions
Store tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from heat, sparks and open flames. Follow the inhibited-monomer storage protocol, including appropriate inhibitor and oxygen conditions. Segregate from oxidizers and polymerization initiators or catalysts.

Inspect drum seals, tank fittings and hazard labels before unloading. Keep lot and inhibitor information with the consignment; check polymer and inhibitor condition under the agreed storage and retest procedure.

Vinyl toluene is an inhibited methylstyrene isomer mixture identified by CAS 25013-15-4 and EC 246-562-2. The colourless, transparent aromatic vinyl monomer has molecular formula C9H10 and molecular weight 118.18 g/mol. Use it in controlled resin and polymer formulation.
Grade and Quality Checks
The supply assay is ≥99.5%. Quality controls include density at 20°C of 0.897–0.899 g/cm³, colour at ≤20 Pt-Co, refractive index 1.542 ±0.003, polymer content at ≤15 ppm and tert-butylcatechol inhibitor at 30–80 ppm.
The inhibitor range and polymer limit are important incoming checks; the commercial isomer distribution is not fixed by these limits.

Resin developers evaluate vinyl toluene in selected unsaturated-polyester, modified-alkyd and vinyl-polymer systems.
