What Is UV Absorber 531 (UV-531)?
UV-531 is a benzophenone ultraviolet absorber with an octyloxy substituent. The powder grade has an HPLC assay above 99% and a melting-range specification. Selection depends on compatibility with the base polymer, processing temperature, migration behavior and interaction with other stabilizers. Its light yellow appearance should be considered when color is important. Weathering performance must be assessed in the finished material; the raw ingredient does not establish a service-life guarantee or a universal dosage.
