What Is DOPO?
DOPO contains a reactive phosphorus-hydrogen group in a cyclic structure. It can be incorporated into appropriately designed resin reactions or used to prepare phosphorus-containing derivatives. The supplied grade controls assay, melting range and trace iron and zinc. Reaction design, process temperature and compatibility with the base resin determine its use. Fire performance must be established in the finished polymer with the required test method; raw-material assay alone does not predict a flame rating.
