Storage Conditions
Keep sealed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated segregated area away from acids, strong oxidizers, moisture and ignition sources. Maintain air gaps between pallets and protect packages from direct sunlight.

What Is Sodium Hydrosulfide Flakes 70%?
Sodium hydrosulfide flakes 70% are a hydrated sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS) reagent. The commercial hydrate is CAS 207683-19-0; anhydrous NaHS is CAS 16721-80-5, EC 240-778-0, with a component molecular weight of 56.06 g/mol. The flakes contain water of hydration and should not be confused with anhydrous NaHS.
The supply grade is NaHS ≥70%, as yellow, orange-yellow, brown or taupe flakes. Colour varies between batches and does not indicate assay; the batch COA reports the NaHS content. The flakes dissolve in water to give strongly alkaline sulfide solutions.
In mineral processing, NaHS is used as a sulfidizer for oxidized copper and lead minerals before xanthate flotation, and as a depressant for copper sulfides in copper-molybdenum separation. Other uses include sulfur makeup in kraft pulping, unhairing in leather processing and metal precipitation.
It ships as UN 2949, Class 8, packing group II, with not less than 25% water of crystallization. Acids and uncontrolled moisture can release hydrogen sulfide, so ventilation and gas monitoring are needed where it is handled. Sulfidizing and Cu-Mo separation
Sulfidizer for oxidized copper and lead minerals ahead of xanthate flotation, and depressant for copper sulfides in copper-molybdenum separation. pH and addition rate are set on the actual ore.
Pulp and leather processing
Sulfur makeup in kraft pulping liquor and unhairing agent in leather beamhouse work. Alkaline conditions, worker exposure and effluent need to be controlled.
Metal precipitation
Precipitates metals as sulfides in metal recovery and serves as a reducing agent in chemical manufacture. Acid contact must be avoided because it releases hydrogen sulfide.
