What Is Sodium Copper Chlorophyllin?
Sodium copper chlorophyllin, CAS 11006-34-1, is a water-soluble green colour made by converting chlorophyll into its copper complex and sodium salts. It gives a stable green shade in beverages, confectionery, dairy and oral-care products, and is used in cosmetics where permitted.
This is the water-soluble sodium salt form; oil-soluble copper chlorophyll is a different product. Colour strength is an optical value, not a purity percentage. Compare grades on colour strength and shade.
Keep it sealed, cool, dry and away from light; shelf life is 24 months unopened. It is not regulated as dangerous goods. Food and beverage use requires a grade permitted in the destination market.
