What Is Guar Gum?
Guar gum, CAS 9000-30-0, is a natural polysaccharide from guar seed endosperm. It hydrates in cold water to give high viscosity at low dose, and is used as a thickener and stabilizer in foods, beverages, ice cream and industrial products.
Two grades are available: HV with viscosity ≥6,000 mPa·s and MV with ≥5,000 mPa·s, with limits on loss on drying, ash, acid-insoluble matter and protein. Viscosity test conditions are confirmed for each grade when you order.
It is not regulated as dangerous goods. Food use requires a grade and documents that meet the rules of the destination market.
