Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place protected from heat and direct sunlight. Segregate from strong acids, strong bases and oxidizers. Prevent microbial contamination; do not expose to temperatures above 60°C.

What Is L-Erythrulose?
L-Erythrulose, CAS 533-50-6, is a ketose sugar used in cosmetic self-tanning formulations. Also called L-glycero-2-tetrulose, the active component has formula C4H8O4 and molecular weight 120.10 g/mol. ZXCHEM supplies a clear, colourless to amber, highly viscous aqueous grade.
The local 2026 TDS specifies erythrulose content 75–82% m/m, water ≤23.0% m/m and pH 2.0–3.5. Nitrogen, sulphated ash and microbiological limits provide additional incoming-quality criteria. These values describe the commercial supply specification rather than a lot-specific analytical result.
Cosmetic developers evaluate L-erythrulose in self-tanning lotions, gels, mousses and creams, often together with dihydroxyacetone. It reacts gradually with amino groups at the skin surface to support colour development. Test colour tone, development time, compatibility and stability in the finished formulation; the tanning effect provides no sunscreen or UV-protection claim.
Standard packing is 25 kg sealed drums. Protect the aqueous product from heat, direct sunlight and microbial contamination; use clean transfer equipment and reseal promptly. The matching aqueous reference is non-dangerous goods for transport, but normal exposure controls and careful temperature management remain necessary.
