What Is Colloidal Silica Sol 30%?
Colloidal silica sol 30% is an aqueous dispersion of amorphous silica particles. The silicon dioxide component is CAS 7631-86-9 and EC 231-545-4; these identifiers describe the dispersed component rather than a single molecule representing the complete liquid formulation.
The supply specification states silicon dioxide 29–31%, sodium oxide ≤0.5%, pH 9.5–10.5, dynamic viscosity ≤9 mPa·s at 25°C and density 1.19–1.21 g/cm3 at 25°C. Available particle-size grades are 7–11 nm or 10–15 nm; choose the appropriate grade for the required particle distribution and process.
