ADBAC 50%
Active content 50 ± 1%; color ≤100 Hazen; pH 5.0–8.0; free amine + amine hydrochloride ≤1.5%. Select for compatible dilution and formulation processes.
ADBAC 80%
Active content 80 ± 2%; color ≤150 Hazen; pH 5.0–8.0; free amine + amine hydrochloride ≤2.0%. Confirm solvent composition and grade-specific handling requirements before use.
Storage & Shipping
Storage Conditions
Keep the original container tightly closed in a cool, dry, ventilated storage area. Protect from direct sunlight and avoid contamination; use the grade-specific SDS for temperature and incompatibility limits.
Shelf life
Expected shelf life: 2 years in sealed original packaging under the recommended storage conditions. Confirm the manufacture date and remaining shelf life for the supplied batch.
Packaging
200 kg PE drums. Confirm net weight, pallet arrangement and any alternative packaging when placing the order.
Handling & Protection
Avoid contact with skin and eyes and avoid inhaling mist. Use protective gloves, eye protection and suitable protective clothing. Prevent release to drains and watercourses; obtain the grade-specific SDS before handling.
What Is Benzalkonium Chloride (ADBAC)?
Benzalkonium chloride (ADBAC, alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride), CAS 68424-85-1, EC 270-325-2, is a quaternary ammonium biocide with a C12–16 alkyl distribution. It controls bacteria and algae in cooling water and pools, and is used in sanitizers, textile softeners and wet wipes.
Two grades are available, 50% and 80%, both clear and colourless to pale yellow. The 80% grade lowers freight cost; the 50% grade is easier to dilute. Confirm the solvent for the grade you order.
ADBAC is cationic, so it is incompatible with anionic surfactants. It ships as Class 8 corrosive. Finished biocide products need approval in the destination market.
