Dicyandiamide, CAS 461-58-5, is cyanoguanidine, a nitrogen-containing compound derived from cyanamide. It is supplied as white crystals with molecular formula C2H4N4 and molecular weight 84.08 g/mol. DCDA and DCD are common abbreviations used in purchasing and technical literature.
The TDS specifies purity ≥99.7%, moisture ≤0.30%, ash ≤0.03%, melting range 209–212°C, calcium ≤200 ppm and melamine ≤300 ppm. These limits support incoming quality evaluation for resin and synthesis applications; use the agreed analytical methods and batch COA for delivery acceptance.
Epoxy formulators evaluate dicyandiamide as a latent curing agent in compatible resin systems.
