What Is Selenium Dioxide?
Selenium dioxide (SeO2), CAS 7446-08-4, is selenium(IV) oxide. It is used in manganese electrolysis, glass decolourizing, as an oxidizing agent in organic synthesis and in metal finishing.
The white crystalline powder has selenium content ≥70.0% as elemental Se. It dissolves in water to form selenous acid.
It is highly toxic and ships as Class 6.1. Use enclosed handling, dust control and full protective equipment.
