What Is Potassium Thiocyanate?
Potassium thiocyanate (KSCN), CAS 333-20-0, is a water-soluble thiocyanate salt. It is used in electroplating, photographic and dye processing, as an analytical reagent for iron, and in chemical synthesis.
The white crystals have KSCN ≥99.0% on a dry basis, pH 6.0–6.8 (50 g/L), sulfate and chloride each ≤0.04% and ignition residue ≤0.02%.
It is not regulated as dangerous goods. Keep it away from acids, which release toxic gas.
