What Is Furfuryl Alcohol?
Furfuryl alcohol is a reactive furan derivative used to produce furan resins and related intermediates. The liquid grade controls water, residual furfural, acidity, density and refractive index. These characteristics support incoming-material comparison and reaction control. Acid contact can promote polymerization and heat release, so storage and transfer equipment need appropriate segregation. The material is toxic and requires controlled ventilation and exposure protection. Its raw-material specification does not establish curing conditions or binder performance in a finished system.
