Perfluorodecyltriethoxysilane, CAS 101947-16-4, C16H19F17O3Si, molecular weight 610.38 g/mol, is a fluoroalkyl silane. It bonds to glass, ceramics, metal oxides and other hydroxyl-bearing surfaces and gives very low surface energy, so treated surfaces repel water, oil and dirt. It is used for anti-fingerprint and easy-clean coatings and for treating fillers and pigments.
The supply grade has purity above 96.0%, refractive index n25D 1.3370–1.3470. It hydrolyses with moisture, releasing alcohol, so keep containers sealed.
