Storage & Shipping
Storage Conditions
Store locked, tightly sealed and ventilated in an HF-compatible storage area with secondary containment. Use qualified polyethylene or other specifically approved HF-compatible containers. Keep away from bases and incompatible metals; never use glass or silicate containers.

Two years in sealed original packaging under the specified storage conditions.

Handling & Protection
Use closed HF-compatible transfer with effective local extraction. Wear task-qualified HF-resistant gloves, protective clothing and full eye/face protection. Maintain emergency washing facilities and a trained HF exposure-response protocol; obtain immediate medical help after any exposure.
What Is Hydrofluoric Acid?
Hydrofluoric acid, CAS 7664-39-3, is an aqueous solution of hydrogen fluoride. It is used for glass etching and frosting, stainless steel pickling, silicon wafer cleaning and fluoride chemical production.
Grades from 30% to 70% HF are available, with hexafluorosilicic acid ≤0.02%, sulfuric acid ≤0.02% and iron ≤0.005%.
It ships as Class 8 with subsidiary Class 6.1. Hydrofluoric acid penetrates skin and causes deep burns and systemic poisoning even at low concentrations; only trained staff with HF-specific protective equipment and calcium gluconate first aid should handle it.
