What Is Dibenzenesulfonimide?
Dibenzenesulfonimide (BBI), CAS 2618-96-4, C12H11NO4S2, is a carrier brightener for nickel electroplating. It reduces stress in the deposit and works with primary brighteners to give bright, ductile nickel.
The white powder has assay ≥95.0%. It is slightly soluble in water and dissolves more easily in alkaline solution.
It is not regulated as dangerous goods. Nickel brightener components are combined in a balanced package; addition rates are set by Hull cell tests and bath analysis.
