What Is Butynediol Propoxylate?
Butynediol propoxylate (BMP), CAS 1606-79-7, C7H12O3, is an acetylenic brightener for nickel electroplating that gives good levelling and brightness.
The yellowish liquid has assay ≥98.5%, relative density 1.085–1.10 at 20°C, pH 7.5–10.5 and water ≤0.5%.
It is not regulated as dangerous goods. Nickel brightener components are combined in a balanced package; addition rates are set by Hull cell tests and bath analysis.
