Storage & Shipping
Storage Conditions
Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry, ventilated place. Protect from moisture and contamination and keep away from strong oxidizers, peroxides and fluorine. Maintain the original drum lining.
Packaging Integrity
Inspect drum seals and liners before unloading. Keep powder dry and lot identification clear, use clean dedicated dispensing tools and reseal opened drums promptly.

Handling & Protection
Avoid generating or inhaling dust. Use closed powder transfer and local extraction, suitable gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. Use appropriate particulate respiratory protection where the exposure assessment requires it.
What Is Molybdenum Disulfide?
Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), CAS 1317-33-5, molecular weight 160.07 g/mol, is a layered inorganic sulfide. Its layers slide easily over each other, which gives low friction under high load, so it is used as a solid lubricant in greases, dry-film coatings and polymer compounds.
Four powder grades are available, with laser D50 of 16–30 µm (Coarse), 8–10 µm (Technical), 1–2 µm (Technical Fine) and ≤0.7 µm (Super Fine). Fisher particle size in the TDS uses a different method and is not interchangeable with laser D50. Each grade has limits on MoO3, iron, acid-insoluble matter, acid number, water and oil.
Finer grades disperse better and form smoother films; coarser grades suit high-load greases and forming. MoS2 is not regulated as dangerous goods; keep it dry, clean and tightly packed, and control dust.

Greases and oils
Solid lubricant in high-load and boundary-lubrication greases and oils. Particle size is matched to the base and equipment clearances.
Dry-film coatings
Pigment for bonded and dry-film lubricant coatings on industrial parts. Binder compatibility and adhesion are tested.
Polymers and forming
Additive for PTFE, nylon and other polymer compounds, and for metal forming. Loading and particle size are set by trials.
