What Is Tris(2-hydroxyethyl) Isocyanurate (THEIC)?
Tris(2-hydroxyethyl) isocyanurate (THEIC), CAS 839-90-7, is a triol with an isocyanurate ring. It adds heat resistance to polyester wire enamels and is used in alkyd and polyurethane resins and as a PVC stabilizer co-additive.
The specification sets melting range 133.5–137°C, hydroxyl value 630–650 mg KOH/g, acidity ≤1.1 mg KOH/g, water ≤0.20% and pH 6.5–7.5.
It is not regulated as dangerous goods.
