What Is Sodium Dithionite?
Sodium dithionite (sodium hydrosulfite), CAS 7775-14-6, is a reducing agent used for vat and indigo dyeing, bleaching of mechanical pulp, kaolin clay bleaching and chemical reduction.
Grades with minimum assays of 85%, 88% and 90% are available. Food-additive use needs a grade approved in the destination market.
It ships as UN 1384, Class 4.2, packing group II. Water, acids and heat cause decomposition and can lead to self-heating and release of sulfur dioxide, so keep it dry, sealed and cool.
As a sodium hydrosulfite supplier and exporter in China, ZXCHEM packs it in 15 kg, 25 kg, 50 kg or 100 kg iron drums with double PE liners, in approved dangerous-goods packaging.
