Polyethylene Glycol 3350, also known as Macrogol 3350 or PEG 3350, is a water-soluble polyethylene glycol grade with an average molecular mass of approximately 3350. Its polymer distribution has no single fixed small-molecule molecular formula.
The local 2026 TDS specifies assay 97–103%, pH 4.5–7.5 in a 5% solution and hydroxyl value 30–38. Controls include ethylene glycol, total EG plus DEG, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, free ethylene oxide and 1,4-dioxane. The source does not specify the hydroxyl-value unit, so it is retained on its declared scale.
Personal-care development can use PEG 3350 as a humectant, binder, carrier or processing aid. Evaluate dissolution, texture, compatibility, rheology and the actual formulation processing temperature. Grade selection should account for the intended specification and exposure route.
