What Is Natural Menthol?
Natural menthol is a crystalline mint-derived ingredient with a characteristic cooling aroma. The selected material has a minimum 99% assay and a melting range of approximately 41–44°C.
Its solid form differs from peppermint oil, which contains a mixture of volatile constituents. Menthol can be evaluated in flavor, fragrance and personal-care systems where cooling character and aroma are desired. Dissolution method, temperature and compatibility with the chosen formulation base influence incorporation and should be established during product development.
