Chloroprene Rubber (CR232 / SN232)

Chloroprene rubber, also known as polychloroprene, is a chlorinated elastomer identified by CAS 9010-98-4. CR232 / SN232 supply is described as a xanthogen- or dodecyl-mercaptan-modified polymer with medium crystallization rate and approximate density 1.23 g/cm3. A polymer has no single fixed molecular weight suitable for the product grid.

The TDS distinguishes CR2321, CR2322 and CR2323 by Mooney viscosity ML(1+4) at 100°C: 35–45, 46–55 and 70–130 respectively. Common limits include Mooney scorch MSt5 ≥11 minutes, tensile strength ≥12 MPa, modulus at 500% of 1–5 MPa, elongation at break ≥750%, volatile matter ≤1.5% and ash ≤1.5%.

Rubber compounders evaluate these grades for light-coloured seals, dust covers and related moulded goods. Other development areas include rubber rollers, protective linings and hose outer sheaths. Grade selection should consider processing viscosity, curing behaviour and the properties of the complete compound.

Standard packing is 25 kg bags or 1,000 kg jumbo bags. Keep cool, ventilated and protected from contamination, excessive heat and direct sunlight. The matched solid polymer safety reference is non-dangerous goods; hot processing still requires fume extraction and appropriate protection.
