What Is Thiourea Dioxide?
Thiourea dioxide (formamidine sulfinic acid), CAS 1758-73-2, is a strong reducing agent. It is used for bleaching recycled pulp and mechanical pulp, for stripping and reductive clearing in textile dyeing, and in chemical synthesis.
The crystalline grade has assay ≥99.0%, with limits on residual thiourea, moisture, iron and sulfate.
It ships as UN 3341, Class 4.2, packing group II. It is moisture-sensitive and can self-heat, so keep it dry, cool and away from oxidizers.
