Commercial Information
Storage & Shipping
Storage Conditions
Use dedicated cool, ventilated organic-peroxide storage, protected from sunlight, ignition and contamination. The selected reference recommends below 35°C; avoid heating and incompatible materials.
Packaging Integrity
Use approved organic-peroxide containers and closures. Inspect seals and pressure-relief provisions without modifying them; protect the package from impact and follow the supplier pressure-management procedure.
Packaging
850 kg IBC
Handling & Protection
Only trained personnel should transfer this organic peroxide. Use clean dedicated compatible equipment, ignition control, ventilation, chemical gloves, goggles and face protection. Prevent contaminated material returning to the supply package.
What Is P-Menthane Hydroperoxide (PMHP)?
P-Menthane hydroperoxide, PMHP, is an organic peroxide used as an initiator in controlled polymerization. CAS 26762-92-5 identifies the commercial menthane monohydroperoxy material. The formula and molecular weight shown describe its hydroperoxide component, rather than the complete solvent-containing product.
The supply specification sets peroxide content 51–55%, active oxygen 4.65–5.12%, refractive index 1.450–1.470 at 20°C and extract pH 4.0–7.2. Compare peroxide and active-oxygen content on the declared analytical basis and keep dilution, reactor conditions and addition sequence consistent with the qualified process.
Styrene-based polymers, selected styrene copolymers and acrylic polymerization processes can use hydroperoxide initiation within a properly designed reaction system. Establish initiator loading, temperature control, mixing, heat removal and the complete reaction safety assessment. A universal dosage is not specified for different monomers or reactor scales.
The matched 50–55% safety reference identifies Class 5.2 organic peroxide transport. This thermally sensitive, corrosive concentrate requires trained handling, contamination control and dedicated compatible equipment. Supply packing is listed as 850 kg IBC; dispatch packaging and the actual formulation must meet the applicable organic-peroxide transport requirements.
