Commercial Information
Storage & Shipping
Storage Conditions
Keep sealed in a cool, dry, ventilated place, protected from moisture and air. Segregate from oxidizers and store activators separately from peroxide initiators.
Packaging Integrity
Inspect drums, closures, IBC valves and seals before unloading. Keep packages labelled and upright, protect from impact and leakage, use clean compatible equipment and reseal promptly.
Packaging
200 kg drums
Handling & Protection
Use controlled transfer and ventilation where mist can form. Wear compatible chemical-resistant gloves, splash goggles and protective clothing; prevent skin contact, splashes and aerosol exposure.
What Is N,N-Dihydroxyethyl-p-toluidine (DEPT)?
N,N-dihydroxyethyl-p-toluidine, abbreviated DEPT, is a tertiary aromatic amine with two hydroxyethyl groups. It is also known as p-tolyldiethanolamine and is identified by CAS 3077-12-1. It differs from dimethyl-p-toluidine and from mono-hydroxyethyl derivatives.
The grade specifies assay ≥98%, moisture ≤0.50% and a combined limit ≤1.50% for listed related amines and non-volatile impurities. These limits support procurement and incoming inspection of the yellow-liquid supply grade. High-purity reference material can be crystalline; confirm the handling condition appropriate to the supplied grade.
For acrylic and selected unsaturated-resin cure systems, evaluate DEPT as part of the complete initiator and activator package. Assess induction time, working time, temperature rise, colour and final conversion. Keep activator and peroxide feeds separated until the controlled formulation step; no universal addition rate is assigned.
Use the grade for industrial formulation trials with appropriate transfer and exposure controls. Protect against moisture and oxidative contamination. The chosen transport reference is non-dangerous goods, while the current classification includes serious eye injury, skin sensitization and aquatic hazards.

N,N-Dihydroxyethyl-p-toluidine (DEPT) FAQ
Which N,N-Dihydroxyethyl-p-toluidine (DEPT) grade should I choose?
Compare Assay ≥98% and the complete specification with your process. Test compatibility, performance and incoming quality in the intended application; do not substitute the nominal molecular formula for a commercial-grade assay.
Can I request a N,N-Dihydroxyethyl-p-toluidine (DEPT) sample for testing?
Yes. We can provide free samples for testing. Tell us the application, the grade you need and the tests you plan to run.
How is N,N-Dihydroxyethyl-p-toluidine (DEPT) packed and shipped?
Standard packing is 200 kg drums. The usual MOQ is 1,000 kg, with a lead time of approximately 14 days from order confirmation. It ships as non-dangerous goods.
Which documents are available for N,N-Dihydroxyethyl-p-toluidine (DEPT)?
The TDS lists the supply specification and the SDS covers safety and transport; both can be downloaded on this page. Each shipment comes with a batch COA.
