What Is Trichloroisocyanuric Acid (TCCA)?
Trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA), CAS 87-90-1, is a chlorine-releasing disinfectant with at least 90% available chlorine, supplied as white powder, granules or tablets. It dissolves slowly and releases cyanuric acid, which protects chlorine from sunlight, so it is widely used in outdoor swimming pools.
Other uses include industrial circulating-water treatment, sanitation products and textile treatment. When comparing offers, check available chlorine on the same test basis and the physical form you need.
It ships as Class 5.1 oxidizer. Keep it dry and cool, and never mix it with acids, ammonium compounds, organic material or other chlorine products such as calcium hypochlorite: contact can cause fire or release toxic gas.
