What Is Guanidine Carbonate?
Guanidine carbonate, CAS 593-85-1, is an alkaline guanidine salt. It is used as a pH adjuster in hair relaxers and cosmetics, and as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals, resins and surfactants.
The supply grade has purity ≥99.0%, moisture ≤0.2% and ash ≤0.4%; a 20% solution is clear and a 4% solution has pH 11.4 ± 0.4.
It is not regulated as dangerous goods.
