Sodium 3-allyloxy-2-hydroxypropanesulfonate (AHPS), CAS 52556-42-0, is a sulfonate-functional monomer. It adds anionic sulfonate groups to polymers and is used in water-treatment scale inhibitors, polycarboxylate concrete superplasticizers and dispersants.
The aqueous grade has active content 39–42%, viscosity below 50 cP at 25°C, pH 3.0–8.0 (1% solution) and acid value ≤10 mg KOH/g.
It is not regulated as dangerous goods.
