What Is Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate?
Disodium laureth sulfosuccinate (DLS), CAS 40754-59-4, is a mild anionic surfactant. It reduces the irritation of stronger surfactants such as SLES, foams well and is used in shampoos, baby washes, facial and hand cleansers and household cleaners.
Type 30 has solids 33 ± 2% and active matter 30 ± 2%; Type 40 has solids 40 ± 2% and active matter 32 ± 2%. pH is 5–7 on a 10% solution. Compare grades on active matter.
It is not regulated as dangerous goods. Mildness claims need finished-product testing. Cosmetic use levels and labelling follow the rules of the destination market.
