Storage Conditions
Keep locked up in tightly closed packages in a cool, dry, ventilated oxidizer store. Protect against heat and physical damage; segregate from combustibles, organic materials, reducing agents and incompatible chemicals.

What Is Barium Nitrate?
Barium nitrate is an inorganic nitrate salt identified by CAS 10022-31-8 and EC 233-020-5. Also called barium dinitrate, it has formula Ba(NO3)2 and molecular weight 261.34 g/mol. ZXCHEM supplies white crystalline solid with purity not less than 99.5%.
The TDS specifies moisture ≤0.05%, insoluble matter ≤0.01%, iron and lead each ≤0.0005%, chloride ≤0.001%, calcium and sulfate each ≤0.004%, strontium ≤0.1%, and pH 5–8. The two particle-size limits retain the stated sieve openings of 1,000 µm and 76 µm, avoiding the conflicting unit labels in the older document.
Industrial manufacturers evaluate barium nitrate as a feedstock for selected barium compounds and ceramic or electronic materials. Glass producers assess it in qualified barium-containing formulations. Its oxidizing function also has uses in licensed pyrotechnic manufacture; this page provides raw-material identity and supply information only.
Standard packing is 25 kg bags. The solid reference is UN 1446, Class 5.1 oxidizer with subsidiary risk 6.1, packing group II. Keep locked up and separated from combustible materials, reducing agents and incompatible chemicals. Toxic ingestion and harmful dust exposure require controlled transfer and prompt medical response.
